DESCRIPTION:This Class is Closed.  Please check back on this calendar; we will have the Spring session scheduled soon.   \n  \nHOPE consists of five interactive\, skill-building\, educational classes designed to reduce the negative impact of divorce or separation conflict on children by helping parents learn healthy habits for more positive co-parenting. \n* Understand your child’s right and need to love both parents \n* Focus on your child’s needs instead of your own desires \n* Recognize relationship transitions \n* Develop effective communication skills \n* Minimize conflict & manage emotions \n* Create healthier boundaries while building trust & respect \nThis class consists of five sessions:  September 16 and 30\, October 14 and 28\, and November 11\, 2019.  One must attend ALL FIVE SESSIONS to complete the program. \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Join us on November 7 for the first of three\n2019-2020 Peace Lectures!\n5:30 PM Reserved-Seating Private Supper with\nJasmyn Story – \nLimited Seating Available – Register soon!!. \nPlease join us at Kaufman House on Thursday\, November 7 at 5:30 PM for a light supper with Fall 2019 Peace Lecturer\, Jasmyn Story.  This event is a fundraiser for KIPCOR\, where you will have an opportunity to interact in a more intimate setting with Ms. Story.  A free will donation will be accepted\, with a suggested minimum donation of $30 per person.  The supper\, brief remarks from Ms. Story\, and discussion time will last until about 6:45 pm\, when we will adjourn to the Lyuken Fine Arts Center (Krehbiel Auditorium) for the Peace Lecture.  Kaufman House doors open at 5:15 pm.  \n\n\nTo reserve your place at this private supper\, please click  HERE.  \n\n\nStudents interested in attending should register to save their place and call KIPCOR at (316) 284-5217 to ask about scholarships to partially offset the cost of attendance.\n  \n7:00 PM Peace Lecture in Krehbiel Auditorium\nin the Luyken Fine Arts Center at Bethel College \nJasmyn Story – \n“From the Deep South to the World: \nWhat Social Justice Can Tell Us Today.” \nJasmyn Elise Story is an international Restorative Justice Facilitator and founder of The People’s Coalition. Named one of Vice’s 31 Women Making History by Creating a Better Future\, they are a dedicated human rights activist with 8 years of experience working in the voluntary sector. Formally the Director of Restorative Justice Programming at the JAGS Foundation\, Jasmyn completed their MA in Human Rights at the University College London. They received their BA in Anthropology from Skidmore College. Currently\, their main focus is on community mobilization and the integration of restorative practices into the City of Birmingham as the Deputy Director of the Office of Social Justice and Racial Equity.
